On 22 November 2025, at 3pm, Convento da Terra hosted the first session of the Conversations That Germinate series, centred on the theme of regenerative agriculture. The event took place at Espaço AQUI, located at Praça Bernardim Ribeiro, nº 20, Torrão, with free entry and open to the entire community.
This gathering was especially dedicated to small landowners and stewards of agricultural plots, but also welcomed anyone interested in rethinking how we cultivate the land, use water, and care for the ecosystems that support life.
Under the theme “sowing water to care for the soil and care for life”, the session brought together specialists in regenerative farming, sustainable water management, protection of water systems, agroecological production and marketing, and collaborative organisation.
Topics explored included:
• Principles and practices of regenerative agriculture
• Soil regeneration techniques and intelligent water use
• The importance of ecological regeneration in the face of climate change
• Challenges and opportunities in territories like Torrão
• Inspiring local case studies and shared learnings
In a time marked by climate disruption and resource scarcity, we believed it was urgent to rethink how we farm, how we live on the land, and how we organise as communities. Conversations That Germinate emerged from this need: to foster dialogue between technical knowledge and local experience, between science and tradition, between land and community.
🌱 Regeneration began with conversation
🌍 The event was free, but the dialogue was vital.
