“Stories of a River”
Date: 21 March

Location: AQUI Space (Convento da Terra)
A performance of imagined stories, in which participants from the Theatre Workshop of E.B. 2,3 Bernardim Ribeiro will narrate the future of the River Xarrama through stories they have created themselves. At the end, the conversation will become collective, opening up dialogue with all members of the audience and their own stories.
The young participants will be positioned throughout the space. The audience enters and is invited to listen to these stories.
“I Am Also a River ”
Date: 9–16 May
Location: Praça Bernardim Ribeiro (square next to AQUI Space)
Time: 9 May, at 3:30 pm
This installation aims to bring together pieces of blue fabric, made or personalised by each participant (students and the general public), simulating the convergence of tributaries.
These fabrics will be installed in the public space and will remain on display for one week. The artistic objective is to observe the effect of time and weather on the “river” and, fundamentally, how the community interacts with this new, ephemeral watercourse in their square.
In advance, the community will be invited to create pieces of fabric with messages or drawings about the river. This communication will take place through posters and the distribution of fabric pieces, inviting people to bring their message on 9 May.
9 May: A group of young people will begin assembling the installation, inviting everyone to take part. Refreshments for the youth group at AQUI Space.
16 May:
The installation will conclude on 16 May, as part of the programme of the international WalkingRivers walk.
There is the possibility of sharing the audio recordings from Stories of a River.

The focus will be the co-creation of scenographic elements and props for the final performance of the Theatre Workshop.
