Bolo Rei & Ancestral Bread Workshop
"The path of bread"
On the first Saturday of December, the 6th, Espaço AQUI at Convento da Terra in Torrão invites the community to a special seasonal gathering around ancestral bread and bolo rei, in a celebration that welcomes the spirit of the festive season.
Throughout the day, we welcome baker José Miguel Pereira Leitão for a hands-on and flavourful workshop where flour becomes food and memory. Between shared stories, ancient techniques and moments of togetherness, we’ll explore bread as a collective gesture, a regenerative act and a vital presence at the Alentejo table.
The programme includes local conversations, sourdough preparation, bolo rei making, traditional lunch dishes based on bread, live singing and tastings. A day open to the community where tradition and contemporaneity meet through flavour, care and listening.
